Episode 1

My one single blow is invincible

When the sun is full in the sky, a shadow is born on the ground. The shadow represents the form of the things in the universe. The form whips its own body and polishes it. Thus, it becomes the finest Cevar ever to be formed in this manner. The Cevar says, “My one single blow is invincible.” and the people of the world would rise up and praise the Cevar by saying, “You are the only who rules with honour and fear that is unmatched any where.”

The story began with 2 warriors on their way to Kuruda, tomboyish Elle Lag and her little brother, Gau Ban. During their dull journey, they saw clouds of smoke coming from a valley. The smoke was a result of a vicious attack on the merchant caravans by bandits. Both Elle and Gau wasted no time rescuing them. The grateful merchants thanked Elle and Gau for their help and invited them to stay with them for the night. While they were eating, Elle and Gau learnt that the merchants were bringing food supplies to the demon beasts that were used for the Kuruda Cevar Festival in honour for the 59th Cevar, the newest member to the Cevar Realm.

The merchants discussed about the 59th Cevar but Elle pretended to be disinterested. Hidden among the tents, was a yellow-haired spy who was slipping in and out the caravans. Watching him was a tall, brown-haired lady, who immediately recognizes Elle. She wondered why was Elle with the merchants and so she stayed behind to eavesdrop. The reason that Elle and Gau were on their way to Kuruda was to find work to pay off Elle’s debts. (Unfortunately, Elle had this habit of drinking, which caused her to be in debts most of the time.) The brown-haired lady sighed.

The next day, Elle, Gau and the merchants reached Kuruda (Somehow, the city’s architecture looked like ancient Greek or Rome.). As usual, the lazy Elle took a nap while Gau did all the work. A few minutes later, a group of Demon Hunters marched past. Trailing behind them was a demon beast in a caged wagon. The passer-bys whispered among themselves about the demon hunters who were known by the name of ‘Septias’.

At the palace of Kuruda, King Eve Stolla (the 55th Cevar, Hawk Eye) was informed by Kai Sink (the 56th Cevar) and Scar Face (the popular 57th Cevar) about rumours of the Extermination of the Holy Country, Ashiliana and Kuruda would be in the front line of the extermination.

………………….

Later at night, the yellow-haired spy went to the area where all the demon beasts were kept. Walking up to one of them, he used his magic and brought the beast under his spell…

Back to the caravan, the merchants chatted in mirth and laughter. During a discussion about the 59th Cevar, a boy commented that his father could never be like a Cevar. Elle immediately scold him. Being strong was not having a super body but having the courage to protect loved ones. Gau sarcastically praised Elle for her fine words and told her that it was time to delivery the food to the demon beasts.  The boy’s mother appeared and told him that it was time for bed. The boy reluctantly obeyed. The boy’s father told Elle that he was once a Var of Kuruda and had intended to become a Cevar. Regrettably, he lacked the talents and mental strength to become one and therefore, resigned as a merchant.

Afterwards, Elle and Gau were on their to way to the demon beasts barn, when the boy (who was scold by Elle) yelled at them to stop. It turned out that the boy had sneaked off because he wanted to follow them to see the demon beasts.

………………….

Meanwhile, the brown-haired lady who had been following the yellow-haired spy the entire time, finally made her presence known. She introduced herself as Follynemlyer Brazamatizer, a Suilem Talisman sorceress. Her duty was to stop the spy from confirming or assassinating the 59th Cevar. She brought out a talisman, which represents fire and released its power.

It was at that moment that Elle, Gau and the boy had just reached the barn. Elle eagerly ran into the barn and was greeted by a wave of fire. She was toasted and was covered in ashes. Elle groaned about her beautiful hair being burnt. Upset, she went in, saw Folly (short form for Follynemlyer) and yelled at her for deliberately destroying her hair. Folly nonchalantly replied that this wasn’t the time to talk about her hair when somebody is after Elle’s life. The yellow-haired spy (who turned out to be a Hulem Beast sorcerer from Soulfan) controlled the demon beast to attack Elle.

Meanwhile, the boy’s father found out that his son was missing and instantly went to look for him….

While Elle dealt with the demon beast, Gau fought with the Hulem Beast sorcerer.  Using the Kuruda Annihilation Technique - Sword, Gau kill the beast sorcerer.  He died with a smirk on his face.

The demon beast was totally out of control and Elle had a hard time dealing with it. The boy was so absorbed watching Elle that he was unaware of the danger of being inside the crossfire. A wall was broken as its pieces were about to crush the boy when the boy’s father stepped in just in time. The boy’s father (carrying his son) quickly leapt to a safe area. The boy was so much awe of his father’s capabilities that he heaped praises upon him.

The Septias Demon Hunters arrived at the scene as soon as they received word about the release of the demon beasts. The hunters were ready to take action when their captain (who uncannily looked like Eva Stolla except for the gray hair and moustache) held out his arm. He told them to look at the symbol on Elle’s left arm. Everybody was dumbfounded. The symbol on Elle’s left arm was the Cevar’s crest.

Elle grinned and proudly introduced herself as the 59th Cevar, Shadow Skill Elle Lag. Then, she recited a martial art language (Marital art language is often used to enhance the body’s physical capabilities. So, be prepared to hear this many times throughout the entire series.)

我は無できない、我の影技かない者為、我が一撃は無敵なり!

(ware wa mudekinai, ware no kagewazakanai mono nasu, ware ga ichigeki wa mutekinari!)

“I’m invincible, there’s no one who could defeat my shadow skill, my one single bow is invincible!”

Using the Kuruda Annihilation Technique – Sword, Elle finished off the demon beast with one single blow. The thunderous defeat of the beast was so loud that it woke the entire city.

Folly congratulated Elle on her victory but there was one BIG problem. Elle had to pay for the damages caused during the fight. In other words, Elle was in further debts. Worse still, she had no money to pay for it because she had spent it all on drinking. Elle groaned.

Unknown to Elle, someone else was watching her.
