人間凶器。北へ
By
the order of King Eva Stolla, Elle and Gau were sent north to the Holy City,
Ashiliana to attend the Ceremony of the 4 fighters as a gesture of peace and to
assure stability between the 4 cities. He severely warned Elle not to create
trouble till she had return to Kuruda. Though
Elle was pleased to get away from the boring task of posing for her statue
(which was supposed to be finished before the Cevar Festival), she complained
continuously about the ceremony. Unknown to the duo, they were being spied upon
by 3 men. Meanwhile, Folly is urging Kyou to hurry up as she hoped to reach
Ashiliana before Elle. According to Folly, the people living in Ashiliana were
from a high society and Elle wouldn’t be able to fit in. Her worst fear for
Elle was she would disobey the rule of the 4 fighters and stir up trouble.
At the same time, Low was spying upon Kyou and decided to follow her.
Half
way through their journey, Elle and Gau stopped at an inn for the night. While
they were eating, Elle overheard some men chatting about the 4 fighters
attending the Ceremony. They were in high praises for the fighters from
Kishurana, Felicia and Likitoa but criticisms on the 59th Kuruda
Cevar (Elle). Elle was about to start a fight when Gau stopped her. As Gau was
calming Elle down, one of the 3 spies secretly spiked Elle’s drink. In the
end, Elle forcefully returned to her seat and took a deep draught of her drink.
Still annoyed, Elle accidentally punch a pillar a little bit too hard… The
next morning, Folly and Kyou found the inn totally in ruins. She quietly said
there was no one but Elle who would have done this. At the meantime, Elle and
Gau had reached a cross point. Strangely, Elle decided to go to the left where
the town of Blorahan was. Gau reluctantly followed her.
At
the isolated town of Blorahan, Elle and Gau met a blacksmith whom Elle
introduced as her older brother, Dais Lag. Later, Dais had a personal talk with
Gau. Scar face had told Dais about Gau’s potential to become a Cevar. Dais
told Gau that he first met Scar Face about 11 years ago, in a war. During that
time, Dais was known as Black Wing, a killer without a shred of humanity. As a
result, Dais felt that he wasn’t qualified to become a Cevar and decided to
live a quiet life as a blacksmith. He then carried on mentioning his friend,
Klain Falanx, the 58th Cevar who become insane with each battle and
soon succumbed to his dark side. In the end, he died in the hands of his best
friend, Scar Face. Though Scar Face had warned him not to fall into the dark
side, Dais felt that Scar Face was succumbing to his dark side sooner or later.
Dais told Gau that in order to become a Cevar, one must have the physical
strength as well as the mental strength not to succumb to the dark side. As her
older brother, he wished that Elle would continue to walk upon the path of a
fighter. He asked Gau to watch Elle for him as he felt that Gau could be
trusted.
After
drinking a few bottles of beer, Elle fell asleep. As she was sleeping, the 3
spies tried to kill her, thinking that Ell was under the effect of the poison
but somehow their plan was backfired. Elle was still alive and energetic. The 3
spies advanced to fight her when Dais’ boomerang flew towards them. While the
boomerang distracted the 3 spies, Elle took the chance to give them a beating.
The spies instantly retreated. Gau
ran up and asked her if she was all right. Elle replied cheerfully as she
praised Dais for his most feared weapon (the boomerang) but she stopped as she
realized Dais’ eyesight was getting worse.
Dais told that it didn’t matter because he could see things more
clearly now than before. Then, he gave a heavy cough and stumbled.
Evening
came and Elle & Gau continued their journey to Ashiliana. As they were
leaving the town of Blorahan, Elle disclosed to Gau that Dais was meant to be
the 59th Cevar instead of her. When Dais was 16, Elle’s parents
died and Elle was seriously ill. Badly needing the money for the medicinal
treatment, Dais fought in many battles to earn the money. With the money, Elle
survived but Dais suffered severe damages to his body that he was unable to
qualify as the 59th Cevar. Elle always blamed herself for causing
Dais’ condition and having the 59th Cevar title, which rightfully
belonged to Dais. Gau replied that she wasn’t to be blamed and Dais did what
he had to. Therefore, Elle would have to continue to uphold her duties honorably
as a Cevar so that Dais’ sacrifice would not be in vain.
