白と黒の激突
A
hidden enemy of Juliennes was bent on to make the rumours of ‘The Termination
of the Holy City’ into reality. In his palace, he was told by his spies (the
same spies in Episode 8) that the neighbouring country of Soulfan had already
sent troops in Kuruda. Also, Soulfan had their best Hulem master (Gana Greeg
Wedge, the beast master of destruction) to deal with the 59th Cevar,
Shadow Skill Elle Lag…
In
the royal palace of Kuruda, King Eva Stolla summoned Low to bring Elle to the
palace due to the increasing reports of advancing Soulfan army. Thus, it would
be best to have all the Cevars assembled as soon as possible. Low agreed to do
so based on the condition that King Eva would give him the writ of summons. He
explained that Elle was indolent in nature as well as only concerning herself
with Gau. Therefore, he would need something substantial in order to get her to
the palace quickly. King Eva Stolla approved of Low’s reasoning and prepared
the writ of summons.
As
soon as Low received the writ of summon, he went straight to the Octopus
restaurant and gave Elle the writ of summons.
Like he expected, Elle instantly set off to the royal palace despite
Gau’s protests. Folly explained to Gau that when the writ of summons is given
to a Cevar; this meant that something serious that would affect the future of
Kuruda has cropped up and it is the duty of every Cevar to prevent that from
happening even if it means to sacrifice his own life. It was urgent matter that
Elle could not afford to ignore it.
However,
Gau still could not understand Folly’s explanations. Low became angry with Gau
for not positioning his duty as a Var of Kuruda as his first priority. He asked
Elle for her permission to deal with Gau. Elle silently gave her consent and
left. Immediately, Low challenged Gau to a duel. Meanwhile, in Blorahan, Dais
Lag was asked by the soliders of Soulfan to build weapons for them. He refused
as he was a Var of Kuruda and would never betray his country. The Soulfan
soliders tried to take him by force but retreated when Dais held out his
boomerang. When they left, Dais believed that Kuruda could no longer avoid the
war with Soulfan.
At
the fields, Low began his assault on Gau who still couldn’t understand of
Low’s desire in challenging him to a duel. Being unable to find a reason to
fight, Gau gave a poor fight. Low, angry at Gau’s poor performance,
deliberately ridiculed at his inability to fight. Such a fighter would never be
able to protect the ones he loved. Upon hearing this, Gau remembered his promise
to Dais that he would protect Elle always. Instantly, Gau’s fighting spirit
returned, satisfying Low’s own fighting spirit. Both of them recited the
Marital Art Language as they prepared themselves for the final blow. Low was
traumatized at Gau’s sudden increased speed and power. To him, it was the
sound of a howling that was as silent and black as the night.
Gau
stood over the unconscious Low, dazed. Scar Face (who appeared sometime during
the fight) stood in front of him, took off his headband, gave it to Gau, carried
Low across his shoulder and walked away without saying a single word. As for
Elle, she entered the palace through an underground passage. Gana Greeg gave a
surprise attack but was taken back at Elle’s ability in killing the demon
beasts without breaking a sweat. She vowed to kill Elle the next time they met.
