In
the throne room, King Eva Stolla told Elle to remain in her room till she has
been called for. Till then, she was advised to get as much rest as she would
never know when she would be able to when the time comes…
At the Soulfan camp, Master Leen and his advisor, Falanx were discussing
their next battle strategy. Gana was ordered to go to the Forest of Jura to deal
with Elle Lag. After Gana left, Master Leen explained to Falanx (a foreigner)
that Soulfan was not a wealthy country, its land were often infertile and its
location was not suitable for any trading. In addition, they lacked the power of
Souma that the country of Ashiliana so abundantly possessed. Though Soulfan may
not have Kuruda’s Cevars, their hunger to become stronger and to overcome
poverty would be enough.
Meanwhile, in the Forest of Jura, the vast numbers of Soulfan soldiers
overwhelmed the 4 mercenaries. The commander sent two of his men to go to
the Kuruda palace to get reinforcements. Immediately, Elle set off to the Forest
of Jura. At 4.05p.m, on the 2nd day of the 9th month of
the Ashiliana calendar, Kuruda was officially on war with Soulfan.
However, Scar Face returned with the startling news that the main
objective of the Soulfan was to capture Dais Lag in Blorahan. Their intention
was to force him to make weapons for them. The attack on the Forest of Jura was
a decoy to get Elle away from the real battlefield. Scar Face told King Eva
Stolla that he had already sent Gau Ban to rescue Dais. King Eva Stolla
immediately asked him for his true intentions of sending a young Var like Gau
Ban into a critical battle that would affect the future of Ashiliana. Scar Face
assured him that he and Kai Sink (who was on his way to Blorahan) would take
responsibility of the consequences. If Gau Ban were to fail, he would be a
disgrace to the Kuruda’s legendary 2000 years of being undefeated.
At 8.10pm, Elle reached the Forest of Jura. While she was attacking the
Soulfan soliders, Gana Greeg made her presence. She laughed evilly at the fact
Elle had fallen for her trick. Elle was shocked when Gana told her that Dais Lag
was in danger of being captured by the Soulfan soliders. Emotionally
uncontrolled, Elle made a mistake in her fighting tactics, allowing Gana the
opportunity to kill Elle. Fortunately, the 4 mercenaries jumped onto Gana and
held her tight. As they pushed Gana and themselves down the cliff, they told her
that they were to be blamed for falling into Gana’s trick. Therefore, they
would bear the consequences of their actions. As for Elle, she must uphold the
honour of Kuruda being undefeated for 2000years for their sake.
